The Cahoots Revved and Braked (CRAB) Trailer

The CRAB Trailer was built to carry tools and materials to meet our needs at Cahoots. It has approximately 800 litres of storage space (about the same as the back of a large SUV or in the tray of a regular ute/pickup truck).

The CRAB has enough power to offset its weight when going up the steep streets of Wellington, and regen braking (a world first!) to make it safely back down. It also has friction brakes for parking on slopes and stopping other folks from rolling away with it. It has 1.6 kWh of energy storage.

While we built the CRAB Trailer for our needs, we’re confident we’re not the only ones who need to move large heavy stuff by bike and we would love to spread this technology! Please contact us to discuss your needs.
